Description
Stratafix Monocryl Plus Synthetic Absorbable Suture, Undyed, PS-1, Size 3-0, 12" L is a barbed monofilament suture designed to provide knotless wound closure with improved consistency in tissue approximation. It is constructed from a synthetic polymer, poliglecaprone 25, which offers predictable absorption and performance characteristics suited for soft tissue approximation in various surgical procedures.
This device incorporates STRATAFIX™ Spiral barbs, which enhance grip and hold in tissue without the need for knots. The barbs distribute tension evenly along the wound, maintaining support for approximately one to two weeks. It promotes efficient closure by eliminating the time associated with knot tying and improving suture placement consistency.
Monocryl Plus sutures contain triclosan, an antibacterial agent that has been shown to inhibit bacterial colonization on the suture. The antibacterial coating helps reduce the risk of surgical site infections (SSI), particularly from pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, MRSA, and others commonly encountered in surgical environments.
